Veeryleaf nervously padded into the clearing. She gasped. There were so many animals! Feeling overwhelmed, she slunk back into a bush and watched the others.

'Might as well make some new friends,' Veeryleaf thought. "Hello!" she said to the young cat.

"That's a pretty name. I'm Veeryleaf. Do- are you in a clan?" the she-cat asked.

"Well, I'm looking to join a clan, because.. my old clan.. split apart." Gone was Veeryleaf's happy attitude from before.

"Oh, no, it's fine." said Veeryleaf. "I'm just... it's fine." Putting on a smile, she said, "So, what do you like to do?"

"I like to explore too," Veeryleaf said with a smile.

"Yes," the brown she-cat said happily. "Sometimes, when I was supposed to be hunting or finding herbs, I would get sidetracked and find myself halfway across the territory!"

"Oh, it was fun," the she-cat purred.

Veeryleaf suddenly had an idea. "Hey, do you want to play a game?"

Veeryleaf looked around. "Let's see who can climb the highest tree," she meowed.

Veeryleaf looked around and found a tall tree. She scrambled up to a high branch then climbed back down. "Now try to get higher up than I did!"

"I'm going to try again!" she shouts up. This time she manages to get to the branch Icepaw is on. "Ha!" she says teasingly. She tries to jump to the next branch, but can't get a good grip and falls. Luckily, she lands on a nearby branch.

Shaken, Veeryleaf says "Yeah, but I think I'll just rest on the ground for a little bit. You won the game." She carefully goes down to the ground.

Veeryleaf waved her tail. "I'm fine," she said. "It'll probably bruise, but that's it."

Veeryleaf looks up and notices Icepaw. "Are you coming down?" she calls.

"Alright," Veeryleaf says to the wolf. She takes a small nibble of the deer. "What's your name?"

Veeryleaf looks up and calls to Icepaw, "Don't worry, I'll come get you!" She starts to climb up the tree again.

Veeryleaf gets to the branch Icepaw is on. "Don't worry. Just make your way over here, closer to the trunk. I'll help you from there."

The she-cat turns to the wolf. "Maybe you should go back to the ground. You're pretty heavy compared to us."

Veeryleaf turns to Icepaw again. "Step onto the branch next to me," she says.
